Abstract and subjects
The NASA Global Hydrology Resource Center (GHRC) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) is NASA's lightning DAAC. GHRC is more than a repository for data; it collaborates with end-users to utilize these data for various research projects. This presentation will cover GHRC's collaborations on three separate projects that have used hemispheric and global lightning observations. This includes a lightning risk assessment in the Hindu-Kush region with NASA DEVELOP and supporting HIGH Impact Weather lAke sYstems (HIGHWAY) with the Lightning Imaging Sensor (LIS). In addition, GHRC is using the Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM) to analyze flash size distributions with Los Alamos National Laboratory.
